Trusting God Through Life’s Roadblocks – A Message From New Day Christian Church

Welcome to New Day Christian Church of Las Vegas and a message from the Children’s church ministry leader. Children and Youth meet every Sunday after worship in the Kid’s Club area.

Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ, and children of God,

Have you ever been driving down the road and come to a roadblock? Perhaps a tree has fallen across the road, or there is construction, or even an accident that is blocking the way. Roadblocks can be frustrating, especially if we do not understand them.

God will place roadblocks in the path of our journey to guide us in certain directions for the purpose of protection from what is on the other side of the roadblock, or to steer us back to the path from which we have wandered. As scripture would say, be thankful for all things (1 Thessalonians 5:18), and that includes roadblocks.

When the police are chasing someone, they will call for help, and others will set up a roadblock down the way to stop or end the chase in hopes that the person will surrender. Although God may set up a roadblock to keep you safe or to redirect you, it is also likely that He has set up a roadblock to get you to surrender. We are called to trust in the Lord and submit ourselves to Him, and He promises to make our path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6; James 4:7).

We see this in the story of Saul, also known as Paul, when he was on his journey to Damascus on a mission, which He thought was for God, to persecute Christians. On his journey, he encountered a roadblock. The roadblock was Christ Jesus, who spoke to Saul, and after the encounter, Saul became blind. This was not just any roadblock or a roadblock to misdirect, but a roadblock that led to the full surrender of Saul’s heart to the Lord. He became Apostle Paul and led many to Christ.

Christ wants you to come to the family of God, the God of Israel, and Father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. If you do not know Him or have not accepted Him, then perhaps that is the reason for the roadblock. Perhaps you are being directed to fully submit to the Lord like Paul did on his way to Damascus. However, if you are a believer, then perhaps God is trying to get your attention, and you should look up and speak with Him.

Remember that roadblocks are there for a reason. To keep you safe, to redirect you, or to get your attention, so give God your undivided attention and trust Him.

Last week, the little lambs learned about the Transfiguration of Christ and how God allowed three disciples to witness this Holy moment with Christ, Moses (the Law), and Elijah (the Prophets) together, and to hear the voice of God commanding them to listen to Jesus, for He was the Son of God. This week, we will revisit the Old Testament with the story of Moses, as he brings forth the laws that God commands his people to follow.

I look forward to worshiping with you tomorrow and bringing praises to our Lord and Savior, who not only places roadblocks in our path but also will remove them, and for that, He deserves all the glory through our songs of praise and dancing before Him. If, for whatever reason, I do not see you tomorrow, may the Lord bless you with peace, joy, and love, and may He guide you, direct you, and bring you comfort and healing when you need it.

God bless you,

Your brother in Christ,

Michael (aka Mr. Michael)
