Time To Re-Boot??

Time To Re-Boot?!?

Let me begin by wishing everyone who may be reading this a very blessed and spiritually prosperous 2022!!

2022, it’s even hard for me to believe I made it to 2022. I am sure there are many who may be reading this right now that feel the same way as I do. I’ve taken way too many chances in life; lived and did things I wish I hadn’t and because of that, I am very grateful the Lord in His mercy allowed me to see 2022.

Let’s be real my friends, 2021 was a tough year for many, tragic for a lot. Yet, in the big scheme of things, 2021 was a probably very good year for many as well; it’s hard to imagine that, right.

Our nation and world went through so much in 2021 and as we come to a New Year, it’s difficult for many of us to think things will be any better in 2022.

I am one of those who still reads the newspaper every day, I know I am antique. As I read what is taking place in our city, nation, and world each day, my heart and mind begins to think, how much worse can it get.

The last time I thought that the Holy Spirit reminded me of when Christians in Biblical times were tortured, burned at the stake, fed to the lions and many more horrible things, just because of their faith and belief in God. I am pretty sure they too thought; “How much worse can it get?”

We read Jesus’ words as He spoke to His disciples in John 16:33 NKJV “These things I have spoke to you, that in Me, you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (emphasis added)

Correct me if I am wrong but did Jesus just say to His disciples, that also means you and me today, that we were to be of good cheer in the tribulations we will face in this world?

As difficult as 2021 was, we will still face tribulations of some sort in 2022 and will we be able to be of good cheer in them?

In our own strength, we won’t be able to do that but In Jesus we can, we just need to re-boot our spiritual life.

I use a computer because that is the world we live in today but I am in no way a computer type person and when my computer goes down, I am a very frustrated person for I don’t know how to fix it.

Someone, who is a computer type person, once told me when my computer went down, I may need to re-boot. A definition of re-boot is to shut down and restart.  Another definition of re-boot means to make a change, to establish a new beginning.

As we enter a New Year, 2022, I believe many believers need to re-boot their spiritual walk, myself included. We desperately need a new beginning for we have allowed too much junk of the world to infiltrate our walk with our Lord.

Like every new year that comes along, 2022 will have its share of difficulties and struggles as well as it’s victories.

Are you ready for that or is it time to re-boot your spiritual walk? Has your quiet time with the Lord dwindled down to almost nothing at all? Is His word something you read occasionally? Is fellowship with other believers still a top priority for you? Is attending church and being involved in a Bible teaching church still your desire?

Join me as we re-boot our spiritual walk my friend. Reason being, there lies ahead of us in 2022 many wonderful and precious things the Lord desires to teach and show us!!!
