There have been many sacrifices over the centuries that have been made by God’s people in order for us to come to know the One true God and receive forgiveness through Christ our Lord.  The long awaited prophesies of the coming Messiah were fulfilled through two humble servants who said yes to partner with God in His divine plan.  On that most Holy Night, love was manifested through a young virgin girl who would deliver the promised Immanuel, God with us, Child .  The darkness of the night and the pain of each and every contraction would soon give way to  the Light of the world bursting forth. I truly believe that if asked, Mary and Joseph, along with all the saints that went before them, would most assuredly declare, that all of the sacrifices made, were truly “a labor of love.”
