Restore It Back To Me Lord!!

One day as I was working on my computer, my computer suddenly shut down. Not being a techy person, I couldn’t figure out what took place. I became very anxious that my computer shut down.

After trying very unsuccessfully to get my computer running again, I called someone who I knew had plenty of computer wisdom. After he tried very hard to get my computer running again, my friend was unable to do so. My friend suggested I take my computer to a place where they could fix it.

When I arrived at the store, I spoke with one of the computer tech and told him I wanted to get my computer back up and running. After working on my computer, the technician said my computer had a virus, but he was able to get my computer running again. He went on to tell me he had to take my computer back to the starting point to fix it. By doing that, I sadly lost some important files, but I still had a working computer.

Life as a believer sometimes goes that way and we need the Master Technician, Jesus Christ, to restore what we may have lost. Life as a believer can and will be very difficult and trying at times, and if we are not in a daily relationship with the Lord, we can lose or begin to doubt much of what we had already learned.

Sadly, sometimes we lose focus about Who it is we are serving and Who it is that is making all things possible in our lives. This is exactly what happened to David

In the spring when all kings went off to war, David decided to send Joab out and he stayed back in Jerusalem. Notice it didn’t say David heard from the Lord to do this. This was all David’s idea, his wisdom at work. We know the rest of the story. After Nathan confronted David of his sin with Bathsheba, we read David’s prayer of confession to the Lord in Psalm 51.

A very important verse in David’s confession to the Lord is found in Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me” (emphasis added)

Somewhere along the line in David’s life, he lost the importance that the Lord needed to be his guide/wisdom in everything he did. David recognized he lost the joy of the Lord’s salvation in his life.

As believers that can happen to us as well. We think we have it together, so we move outside of the Lord’s will, outside of His protection and get ourselves in big trouble.

Feeling a bit dry, weary, confused, discouraged lately my friend? Ask the Lord to restore the joy of His salvation back into your life so you can move in boldness and in His power, not yours.
