I’m one of those weird people who actually enjoys going to Disneyland. I don’t like many of the things and lifestyles Disney promotes, but just being in the Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California is relaxing for me. Maybe it’s because I am still a kid at heart. Some of you may be thinking, this man needs some serious medication, but I’m just stating my thoughts my friends.
One of the greatest things I enjoy at Disneyland, besides eating some Churros, is watching the giant fireworks show at the end of the day. To me, that is one of the greatest fireworks displays I have ever seen.
Now I know there are lots of people to deal with when you watch the fireworks display, but I love hearing the people as they say Oooh Aaah after each fireworks display is shot into the air.
Even those people who are only there because of their kids and are very tired after walking the park numerous times in the day, will always voice their liking as each firework display goes off.
July is a special month in America because on July 4th, people all across our great nation will celebrate Independence Day, when back on July 4th, 1776 the Continental Congress approved the signing of the Declaration of Independence
People across our nation will celebrate the 4th of July by BBQ’s and having people over as they light off fireworks or watch them as someone shoots them off into the skies.
The last time I was in Disneyland and watched the great fireworks display at the end of a long day, I felt the Lord say, what I was watching, would pale in comparison to the time when Jesus comes back with a shout to gather His church, you and me.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first” (emphasis added)
You won’t be hearing any Ooohs and Aaahs when that day happens, but instead you will see every knee bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father
Not even the great Walt Disney or anyone currently working for Disney, with everything they have at their disposal, will be able to match that great display in the sky when Jesus comes back.
There’s a lot of things in this world that are able to draw Oooohs and Aaaahs from us, but only Jesus Christ, coming back in all His glory, will get everyone’s attention, no matter who they are, what position they held in life or how much money they had.
Happy Fourth of July my dear friend! Take the next step by asking Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life so when He comes back, you can enjoy that day instead of dreading His coming!
