Trusting God’s Choices in Our Lives – New Day Children’s Church Ministry

Enjoy this weeks message from New Day’s Children’s Church leader. Children and youth meet every Sunday after worship in the sanctuary. Bring your children to learn about our Heavenly Father.

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ and children of God,

Do you have many memories as a child? Do you think back often about your childhood? Are they good memories or bad memories? Often we think that people have good memories, and only the good ones, but there are those who have bad memories as a child and they try to block them out, and then there are some who dwell on those bad memories. It comes down to a choice. Focus on the bad memories or focus on the good memories. And if you really cannot find anything good in your past to focus on when thinking back to your childhood, then choose to focus on the days ahead.

Life is about choices. We can choose to focus on the bad memories or we can choose to focus on the good memories. Either way it is about choice. There are, however, things we do not have a choice. Being born was not our choice, the parents we had or still have was not a choice. Where you lived or when you moved you did not have a choice. So there are things we did not have the choice when we were young growing up. Our parents, or adults, or authorities made the choice for us in the best interest for us. They were not perfect, but they tried and had good intentions, but sometimes their choices did not make us happy in life.

God does not always give us choices because He knows better than we do, no matter what age we are, and His ways are better than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). So, sometimes we just have to live with the choices He makes for us and trust in Him. Trust not always the choices man makes for us, but trust in the Lord for He will always make the right choices for us. You may not understand those choices, but believe they are for His glory and most often best for you, despite what you may see with your fleshly eyes.

Because He loves us there are choices that God does allow us to make, and the most important choice is whether or not to accept His son Jesus the Christ as our Savior. The Son who chose to die for you so that you can be free and enter the family of God and so you too can be the heir of the kingdom of God. You can choose to love God or you can choose not to love God. You can choose to accept God or you can choose to deny God. You can choose to follow His ways or you can choose to rebuke His ways. However, I am here to tell you that it will go well to choose His ways, for the God of all creation is the Father to all and therefore we should honor Him (Ephesians 6:1-3).

God’s desire is to have a relationship with those whom He created and He did create you and He desires to have a relationship with you, a relationship far better than any father, parent, or those who you remember as a child taking care of you, because God, the Father, is the Almighty who loves you and has a plan for you (Isaiah 29:11). Because He loves you, He will not force you to come to Him, but allows you to make that choice. I encourage you to make the choice to come to Him and begin to make lasting memories of your growth in salvation.

Last week the little lambs learned how Moses was hid and saved from being killed when he was a baby. This week we will be discussing how God used Moses to lead his people and save the children of God.

I look forward to worshiping our Father tomorrow with you through songs of praise and dancing before Him who remembers us always. If for whatever reason I do not see you tomorrow, may the Lord bless you with joy, peace, love, understanding, and may He comfort you, lead you, and heal you when you need it.

God bless you,

Your brother in Christ
