Finding Hope in Christ: Lessons from the Resurrection – New Day Christian Church Children’s Ministry

Welcome to New Day Christian Church children’s ministry, enjoy Michael’s message this week. Children and Youth meet every Sunday after worship in the Kid’s Club room.

Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ, and children of God

I hope and pray everyone had a wonderful Firstfruits Sunday. Sadly, many do not celebrate, and many do not even go to church, or if they do go to church, it is only at Christmas time and Easter. I ask that you continue to pray for the lost who do not yet understand the celebrations and the reason for each season that brings hope to many.

When we lose someone we love, it can be agonizing and often causes confusion. We ask why this had to happen to this wonderful person. They should not have had to die. They did nothing wrong. It can be hard on those left behind because we try to find a reason for the loss. Those are good questions, and believe it or not, those are the same questions the disciples asked the night that their teacher and friend was beaten and killed.

After three days of mourning, and after it seemed like all hope was lost, joy came in the morning ( Psalm 30:5) with the return of Christ Jesus. He walked alongside them, he ate with them, he spoke to them, he revealed, not only himself as Christ to them, but also the truth about what he preached in regards to his death and return. For a short time, there was mourning, but then there was joy. If only the disciples had believed all along during his death, then maybe they would not have worried so much about their hopelessness.

We often face times of trouble. It might be a death, like the disciples faced, or it might be financial burdens, or job-related issues, or physical, mental, or emotional issues that rob us of our joy and break us down, sometimes to our knees, and that is where God wants us during these times. Humble ourselves and fall to our knees and pray for the situation that we have been faced with, for we are the warriors of our life, and for some, warriors in and for our family. If we turn to Him, he will hear our cries.

Picture this: a man who is talking to you has his back to you, and you cannot hear or understand him very well. But if the man turns around, then you can understand him and hear him, and are able to answer him clearly. We should not be trying to talk to God with our backs to Him, which is disrespectful, but we should bow before Him and lift up our voice for Him to clearly hear us.

If your hope is in the Lord, you will never lose hope. The disciples lost hope, but it returned when they understood the purpose of Christ dying and resurrecting. If you have lost hope or do not understand the purpose of Christ, then I encourage you to seek what you do not understand, and the understanding will come just as Christ came to fulfill the purpose in which God had planned for you and me, and the world..

Christ came as a Baby, He died as a King, He resurrected as a Savior. He is always with us (Emanuel) in Spirit, but He will one day return and walk with us again.

Last week, the little lambs read about Christ’s death and resurrection, and his reason for dying. It was a great time of celebration. This week, we will discuss what happened after Christ’s resurrection, his instructions to his disciples, and why he had to leave again.

I look forward to worshipping our Lord, Christ Jesus, with you tomorrow with songs of praise and dancing before Him who gives hope and gave Hope to the world. If, for whatever reason, I do not see you tomorrow, may the Lord bless you with peace, joy, and an abundance of love, and may He guide you, heal you, and comfort you when you are in need.

God bless you,

Your brother in Christ,

Michael (aka Mr. Michael)
