Trusting God’s Plan for Your Life – A Message from New Day Christian Church

Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ and children of God,

What am I going to do? Where is my life taking me? I could be mistaken, but I imagine at some point in life we all ask those questions, and if not those exact questions, then questions that are quite similar. They are good questions to ask, but perhaps the better question is, what do you have for me today, Lord?

This is a good question to ask, because it announces your faith and trust in God. It would make sense to ask it at the beginning of your day, or as you begin to prepare for the day. God has a plan for each one of us (Jeremiah 29:11). By asking Him at the beginning of the day, God will begin your steps for the day.

Once again, we turn to the letter to the Exiles that is found in Jeremiah 29. It begins in verse 4 when God begins to instruct those in exile to Babylon. He encourages them to continue to settle down in their new place and build a life there, and grow in numbers (29:6). They were to pray for the city of Babylon and its prosperity (29:7). Although his promise would be many years, God promised to come for them and return them to Jerusalem (29:10). God had plans to give them hope and a future (29:11).

So often, we do not know what to do or where we are to go next in life. It is almost as if our personal compass is broken, and there is nothing to guide us. Life seems to place an obstacle in the middle of our journey that breaks the compass. We had a plan, but then life happened, and the plan has now been broken along with the compass.

God’s compass never breaks, and God’s plans are greater than our own, because His ways and thoughts are greater than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). I am not saying that you should not plan, for sometimes God can be instructional in your planning, but He is ultimately the one who establishes the steps and at His time (Proverbs 16:9). As believers, we must trust God, for He will care for His children and He will protect them as He leads them.

Trust God and let God lead you. The plans you have may or may not be the plans God has, but always remember that God’s plans have a purpose. His plans work for the good of those who love Him, and who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Although you may seem lost, God is not.

Last week, we did not have Children’s Church, as the Pastor had a special message for the whole church. This week, the little lambs will be reading and learning about David as a child and overcoming the Goliaths in life, and being a shepherd.

I look forward to worshiping our Lord with you tomorrow with songs of praise and dancing before the one true God who leads us to the Promised land. If, for whatever reason, I do not see you tomorrow, may the Lord bless you with joy, peace, and direction, and may He comfort you, heal you, and guide you when you need it.

God bless you

Your brother in Christ

Michael (aka Mr. Michael)
