Understanding Your Special Place in God’s Creation – New Day Christian Church

Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ and children of God,

God’s special possession. Did you know that you are God’s special possession? You were created, and you are His creation. Of all the creations of the world, you are special. God created the universe and all its stars, planets, moon, and sun. He created all the land and the waters around the land. God created all the animals of the air, land, and waters. God created all these things, but it is man that He cherishes most. God did not send His son to die for the stars, moon, or sun. He did not send His son to die for the land and all the creations of the land, nor did he die for all the animals that God created. Jesus, the Son of God and the Messiah, came to earth in the form of man so that He could bear the sins of man and die for man; die for you. You are so special that Jesus died for you. This proves that you are God’s special possession.

There is a living Stone on which we stand, who many have rejected, but was chosen by God and is precious to Him. You are like living stones being built into a spiritual house… (1 Peter 2:4-5). Do you believe that this Stone is precious? Do you accept this Stone in your life and believe in the purpose of this Stone? If you do, then you are part of the Stone, and the Stone is part of you.

In ancient times, it was not uncommon for builders to build on top of crumbled and fallen buildings; they would simply build on top of the stones that were already laid. However, there is always a stone that would be initially situated on the foundation, and the other stones would be aligned to it and connected to it, even on top of the old stones that were no longer useful. That initial stone was called the cornerstone.

Isaiah 28:16 says, “I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.” Psalm 118:22 says, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:19-20 that “you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief Cornerstone.”

There comes a time in our lives when we crumble and fall apart. For those without Christ, it can be most difficult to pick up the pieces. Oftentimes, they try to use the pieces that are around them and rebuild with the old stones that are in their lives. The best way to rebuild is with a precious cornerstone laid on top of the old stones, and begin to build piece by piece the new stones which are aligned with the Cornerstone.

We as believers, who already have the living Stone in us and have already been rebuilt with the Cornerstone in our lives, must recognize the fallen and broken stones of others and share with them the one who can lay the firm foundation with the Cornerstone and we must become part of the stones in their lives as we build together the temple for Christ to reside in us as a church and bring the broken to a healing so they too may guide other fallen stones to the Cornerstone.

Like Christ is the special cornerstone to God, we are God’s precious stones. We are God’s chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession (1 Peter 2:9). Believe in His words, for they are true.

Last week, the little lambs learned about the kindness and loyalty of King David as we read about Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, who was David’s best friend. This week, we will be learning about Peter and how he escaped from prison.

I look forward to worshiping our chief Cornerstone tomorrow with you through songs of praise and dancing before the Lord. If, for whatever reason, I do not see you tomorrow, may the Lord bless you with joy, peace, and abundant love, and may He comfort you, heal you, and guide you when you need it.

God bless you,

Your brother in Christ,

Michael (aka Mr. Michael)
