“Thank You?!?”

I am amazed at how many people today, especially young people, have somehow lost their manners. I see in the marketplace, the workplace and sadly even in the church.

Maybe it’s because I am old, but it seemed that people had more manners back when I was much younger. Back then if you held a door open for someone, people would almost always respond by saying thank you.

I started working at a very young age and people were very nice and cordial when you came across them in the marketplace. Don’t get me wrong, back then there were those few who were rude and refused to say thank you for just about anything, but that wasn’t the norm.

Nowadays, you are shocked when someone says thank you if you hold the door open for them. That is a very sad state we find ourselves in today.

People today walk around with it’s all about me and I have my rights attitude painted all over their faces. Common courtesy is not so common anymore

The tragic death of Charlie Kirk has awakened the hearts of many of the young people today to the things of the Lord and that presents a huge challenge to the church. How many of those young people will find common courtesy alive and well in the churches today?

I got saved in the mid seventy’s and when I attended church, there were many Christians who would do just about anything to make one feel welcomed in their church.  Society today and all the political divisions there are in our country today have accomplished nothing but breed animosity and hatred in people’s lives for those who think differently than they do.

I guess it was about the same back when Jesus walked the earth. Jesus healed many lives, He taught people great truths, even if it meant He would spend all day doing that.

Yet, when Jesus carried His cross to Calvary to be hung to die for our sins, where were the multitudes, the many lives Jesus touched? Sadly, where were His disciples?

I’ve sadly seen many Christians who got their feathers ruffled by something and left the church. I wonder what all those Christians who were martyred for the sake of Jesus back in His time would say to that?

I must sadly admit, I have become guilty of not being thankful as much as I should be and that has to change. When was the last time you spent time telling the Lord ‘Thank You’ for all He has done for you??
