Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ and children of God,
The weatherman said that we were in for cooler weather. Yet, I checked today, and his prediction has changed. With all this technology, the weathermen still cannot get the science right and often make incorrect predictions. Predictions can be tricky, as things do change, which changes predictions. For instance, some predict that Lee McGregor will win the boxing match against Michael Gomez Jr., despite the odds, based on analysis and probability. However, if McGregor wakes up with a sore throat or bumps his hand just right, that might change the outcome of the match. Another prediction is the horse races, and this year’s Preakness Stakes prediction is Iron Honor, but of course, that depends on who you talk to. According to Gene Menez of CBS Sports, he has listed five to be in the top ten, and Iron Honor is at the top of the list. However, if any one of those top five has a bad, cramped leg or stomach issue due to what they eat, then the prediction changes, and even the outcome can change by the end of the race.
There have been many predictions over the years, based on biblical studies and even science, about the return of Christ. You can even look at the seven Feasts and make a claim or prediction as to what is going to happen, but in the end, no one knows but the Father (Matt 24:36). Predictions can be made based on history and even science or analysis, but they are just that, predictions. There is no guarantee that the prediction will be correct. The Word of God is not based on history or science but on the truth of the Lord and Creator of all things.
Jesus tells his disciples that in the days before the flood of Noah, people were doing their everyday routine, all the way up to the day Noah entered the Ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them away (Matt 24:38-39). That day could be tomorrow, next week, a month, a year, or even ten years, or a generation. It also could be today. When the Father tells the Son to go and get his bride, the Son will come. God and Jesus assure us that Christ will come, but they do not tell us when, and therefore we must always be ready, for as in the day of the flood of Noah, when the door of the ark closed, people were swept away and were no more, and in the day Christ comes, the door will be closed, and there is no getting in. So, now is the time to get right with God and accept Jesus as the Son of God, for I cannot predict that there will be a tomorrow.
Last week, the little lambs celebrated Mother’s Day by talking about some mothers from the Bible. This week, we will continue our lesson on the Fruit of the Spirit as we look at kindness and goodness
I look forward to seeing everyone this week as we worship our Lord and Christ Jesus. However, if for some reason I do not see you, may the Lord bless you with kindness and goodness and joy, and may He comfort you, heal you, guide you, and strengthen you when you need it.
