The Forecast For Tomorrow is….

I have always been interested in knowing the weather forecast. For some reason it fascinated me.

When I began driving truck for Nabisco, my day started very early in the morning and there were times I had to deliver out of town. I hated driving and making deliveries in bad weather; especially when it came to driving out of town.

Bad weather or unexpected storms made my job very difficult. I couldn’t go as fast as I normally drove and working in bad weather was not fun at all.

Watching the weather forecast today is totally different than it was back in the day. Today meteorologists have so much information and tools available for them to make an accurate weather forecast. Yet, as many of know, they often miss it for the Lord is still the One who determines what will take place; weatherwise.

I’m also fascinated with watching TV shows which show the damage tornados, hurricanes, thunderstorms and high winds can bring. Often people, towns and so forth are taken by surprise by these terrible storms. Despite all the data we have available to us, storms have a mind of themselves.

It’s the same in our walk with the Lord. It would be wonderful for us as believers if we knew when a tragedy or some major disturbance was coming into our life.

We could be prepared for it, make the necessary arrangements to help us get through any storm or major disturbance that was coming into our life and things would be just so much easier, right!!

The problem with that is our faith would rely on knowing what lies before us and not trusting the Lord will be with us through any storm or major tragedy in our life.

As much as we would all like knowing what lies before us, the Lord wants us to be totally dependent and trusting in Him, no matter what may come to our life so our faith can be made strong.

Let me play spiritual weatherman for your life and mine. The forecast for all of us tomorrow and every day that follows is found in Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
